Fundamentals of Photovoltaics

This course is an introduction to the relevant fundamental physics required to understand the operation and characterisation of photovoltaic devices. The course is divided into several components; a lecture course (10 lectures), practical labwork, a group project and a materials masterclass. The course will also include a series of problem classes and an examination. There will also be a trip to the Pilkington NSG float line in St. Helens.

You will be staying at The Castle Street Collection Apartments during your training in Liverpool. The accommodation is located on Castle Street and is a 20 - 25 min walk of a 10 min bus journey from the Stephenson Institute.

You will have access to the following facilities:

  • Kitchen
  • Cooking equipment and crockery
  • Washer/Dryer

All flats accommodate two or three people. Everyone will have their own separate bedroom.
