Olivia was born and bred in Birmingham and graduated from Imperial College London in 2015 with an MSci in Chemistry. She is now undertaking her DPhil in Physics at the University of Oxford as part of CDT-PV. Previously, she has completed a research project at the National University of Singapore and worked behind the bar at Imperial College Union for 2 years alongside her studies. She is also a BSAC Sports Diver, and enjoys swimming with fish whenever she can.
Perovskite Solar Cells
This project will focus on research associated with perovskite solar cells. The main aim will be to create a perovskite solar cell which is stable to environmental atmosphere and temperature by investigating the impact of different electrode materials and perovskite absorber composition. A main challenge will be to identify routes to make the perovskite absorber itself insoluble to water. A second aspect of her work will be to integrate and optimise lead free perovskite semiconductors in the solar cells. These will initially include Sn perovskites, but also expand to other metals as time proceeds
