Adam Urwick studied his MEng in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Sheffield, researching and developing novel thermoelectric materials based on tetragonal tungsten bronze structures for his final year project. He also spent 5 months with Ilika Plc in Southampton researching novel shape memory alloys during his third year. His interest in renewable, sustainable, and novel technologies led him to undertake his PhD at the University of Sheffield with the CDT-PV investigating the next generation of thin film solution processed perovskite photovoltaic devices. Adam enjoys a wide variety of hobbies and interests from bouldering to politics. His ultimate passion however is travel due to his insatiable appetite for discovery.
